Commissioner Erica C. Crawley Speaks as Service in Action Nook for Veterans Opens at a Local Library

Board of Commissioners, Franklin County, Ohio · November 2, 2026. Full, unedited recording published by the local government.

Commissioner Erica C. Crawley, a U.S. Navy veteran, joined the National Veterans Memorial and Museum and the Columbus Metropolitan Library to open a Service in Action nook at the Karl Road Branch. The nook pairs books by and about veterans with acts of service anyone can do, from writing thank-you letters to making kindness cards. Students presented handmade letters to veterans in the room, and guests marked the opening with a dry-ice cloud instead of a ribbon. Hear Commissioner Crawley on why veterans’ stories need a place to be told. Read more at…

Our Mission

Community is what binds us together as a people.

1

To give everyone access to every local town and city government proceeding across the country, and to other local forums where local public policy is discussed, debated and decided — all without editing, commentary or analysis, and with a balanced presentation of points of view.

2

To provide elected and appointed officials at every level of government, and others who would influence public policy, a direct conduit to the audience without filtering or otherwise distorting their points of view.

We build interest in local participation, promote civic duty by holding up those already serving as role models, and foster the notion that we are all members of a community — our own local, our state and our country.
